I am a Bay Area-based motion designer, 2D animator, illustrator, and mother of two girls. I love storytelling and character animation.
I started my creative journey in digital advertising, where I was introduced to Flash and fell in love with animation. Myriads of online ads later, I’ve completely transitioned to After Effects – my current playground – where I spend most of my time creating explainer videos, educational materials, UI walkthroughs, social media posts, and personal projects.
Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of working with clients like Google, McKinsey, UCSF, Airbnb, TED, Amazon, BareMinerals, AdaptedMind, and more.
Recently, I’ve been expanding my illustration practice, which has been a fun and refreshing way to explore visual storytelling from a different angle. I also run a YouTube channel where I share tutorials and creative projects focused on crafting and making things by hand. It’s become a space for experimentation and a way to combine my interests in teaching, storytelling, and crafting.
In my spare time, I love experimenting with other animation and drawing tools. The latest ones are Rive, Moho, and oil pastels. You can see some of that work on my Instagram.
I’m always on the lookout for exciting new projects and collaborations, so if you like my work and want to connect, drop me a line at mashatyomkina@gmail.com.
